Accessible Wet Floor Shower Case Study | Leeds | West Yorkshire
Published: 26 October 2017
Problem:
Mr & Mrs Roberts lived in a bungalow that housed two separate bathrooms: the main house bathroom and a shower room located in the garage conversion completed by its previous occupants.
Initially wanting to update both rooms the couple decided to fully refurbish and focus solely on one room at a time and started with the shower room in the garage conversion.
Featuring a conventional step quad enclosure and a run of furniture that housed a semi recessed basin & WC the room was small in size and required a safe & stylish facelift to meet the wants & needs of the users especially Mr Roberts.
Solution:
Initially looking for guidance and a best fit solution for their personal requirements More Ability Surveyor & Designer, Garry Kirkbright, visited the couple to find out more about their wants and needs. Working with quite a small space Garry needed to find a design and layout that would allow him to incorporate a safe and accessible shower solution that was as stylish as it was atheistically pleasing.
Outcome:
Using a number of design tricks in his arsenal Garry totally transformed a once cramped and inadequately accessible shower room into a totally future proofed stylish & accessible wet floor shower solution. Turning the room on its head Garry completely changed the layout by relocating all key fixtures and fittings along the back wall. Featuring a comfort height WC, wall hung basin, wet floor shower with slip resistant vinyl, corian bench, glass flipper screen, chrome digital mixer and warming spot lights the fully tiled stylish & accessible shower solution was a clean, tidy and safe space to bathe.
what mr & mrs roberts said about more ability:
"You are not the cheapest but your proposed solutions, overall design and finished installation is one of the highest quality."
