Problem
A family shower room in Leeds consisting of a quadrant shower and several bathroom features had become unsuitable for use due to the big step outside of the shower. The family set out to explore their options and find a suitable multi-generational design, that was both stylish and accessible there for meeting all of the family’s requirements
Solution
In search of a reputable company that could provide the family with a stylish and accessible bathing solution, they came across More Ability after browsing the internet and made a trip to our Leeds Bathroom showroom. They were informed of our full design and fit service and respectable history spanning almost 60 years in delivering bathroom renovation. Confident we could solve the challenges the family were facing they scheduled a free design appointment.
The couple were visited by experienced Senior Designer Garry, who came to discuss, the challenges they were facing with the existing bathroom and listen to any design they had. However, before they got into the conversation, he measured the bathroom to kick off the process.
The triad then sat down, and the couple expressed to Garry that Mrs. Hoult was struggling to get in and out of the quadrant shower due to its big step, leading them to consider renovating the bathroom.
Listening to their ideas the couple explained to Garry that they wanted to explore the option of having fit a level-access shower/ a wet room. As part of their suggestions, they mentioned fitting grab bars, a foldable chair, a wall-hung WC, a vanity unit, wall boarding as well as installing a new fan and radiator.
Taking into consideration that their daughter and son-in-law were also going to be using the bathroom as well, they wanted the new design to be centered around the needs of Mrs. Hoult but also cater to the others in terms of style.
On the back of the design conversation, Mr. and Mrs. Hoult were keen for Garry to impart his ideas for the new bathroom refurbishment given his extensive knowledge of bathroom solutions.
With all of their challenges, considerations, and ideas in mind, Garry proposed an elegant future-proofed accessible wet-floor shower design, fit with a purpose-built in-seat, a variety of accessible bathroom design and modern features. The design ensured comfort, an enhanced showering experience, and increased safety.
Mr. and Mrs. Hoult were excited by the design Garry had put together satisfying all of Mrs. Hoult needs and with an aesthetic look in place, this also accommodated their loved ones.
Garry then handed the couple a provisional quote for the work and invited the couple for another appointment at our Leeds Bathroom showroom, where he presented them with a variety of CAD images to help them visualise their new bathroom. He then ushered them around the showroom to pick any other accessible bathroom design features they wanted to include. Happy with their choices and how the project was taking shape, they were more than happy to place an order with us.
Garry – ( Behind the design) - "After learning their requirements and finding out how many users will be using the new bathroom. I incorporated the wet room they were after with a few tweaks, catering to all users, and future-proofed the design considering all eventualities, I proposed a Corian bench as it is a stylish option, and still ensures the safety of Mrs. Hoult’s needs. Keeping everyone using it happy!"
