Problem
Mr.
and Mrs. Etchells were in the process of moving home and the existing shower
room that was there was not suitable for their needs and desires. The couple
wanted to look into altering the design and began to search for options.
Solution
Exploring the internet, Mrs. Etchells discovered our brand More Ability and she was quite impressed with our service and continued to enquire on our website.
A member of our team contacted Mrs Etchells taking notes of the initial requirements, which she explained that her and her husband were looking for a new bathroom solution. One of the reasons, with an eye on the future, was that they wanted a stylish, safe, and practical solution.
Mrs. Etchells was then fully informed of how More Ability sits as part of the Passmore Group of brands operating across different trades and learned of our distinct full design and fit service process.
Happy with the information she had received and still keen to carry on, she was scheduled for a free design appointment.
Our experienced Senior Designer Garry went out to visit the couple at the home they were due to purchase and before they got into a conversation about a new accessible bathroom design, he surveyed the existing concept.
The three of them then gathered, and with the notes Garry had been provided by a member of our team, the couple confirmed that they wanted a new accessible bathroom solution that was also stylish.
Furthering this they confirmed they were open to ideas and suggestions from Garry, with the room being small, they were unsure what concept to go for, including flooring, and storage, to maximise space.
Taking this information in, Garry proposed a modern accessible wet floor shower that was aesthetically pleasing and remained accessible.
He had incorporated a Corian bench and shower tiling. The design also consisted of safety-accessible bathroom design features including grab bars and anti-slip vinyl flooring, ensuring the safety of the couple whilst using the shower space. Completing the design was a purpose built boxing, which would house the WC and basin, concealing all the pipe work while offering a maintenance free flush finish.
Garry Behind the design – ‘Given the couple’s future-proof
requirements the best and agreed solution was to go for an accessible wet floor
shower that still looked attractive but with all the safety design features
that would ensure the couple’s safety. Which is what this design epitomises’
Mr and Mrs Etchells liked the design that Garry had put together and wanted to proceed to the next stage of our service.
Garry invited them for a second appointment to visit our astonishing Harrogate Showroom, where he would present them with detailed CAD visuals of how their new shower room concept would look completed.
During the second appointment Garry presented the CAD images to the couple, delighted with the pictures he then guided them around the showroom to pick the final accessible bathroom finishing touches for the proposed shower room.
Happy with how the project was taking shape Mr. and Mrs. Etchell were more than happy to place an order with us to complete our full project-managed service.
Installation
Our bathroom surveyor Joe visited the couple prior to the installation as he would liaise with our multi-skilled fitter Tony to ensure the project ran efficiently.
Our multi-skilled fitter Tony stripped the existing bathroom taking out the existing step-up shower and replacing it with an amazing accessible wet floor shower.
On the inside of the shower, a Corian Bench was fit as per the design, providing the option to shower while seated. Attractive featured tiling, with grab bars, was also fit, aiding safety while promoting the shower design.
Completing the shower install was a toughened partition screen helping to maintain and conceal the water within the allocated wet room area.
Matching the grey Corian bench was a back-to-wall concealed system fit opposite, taking away the visibility of all pipe work and as part of the concealed system was a semi-recessed basin and a comfortable height WC.
Fit across the entire room was a stylish grey anti slip vinyl flooring massively preventing the couple from a potential fall with its water resistant material.
Just as the couple had requested Tony fit a tall glossy wall-hung grey storage cabinet just outside of the shower area, giving the couple a place to put their towel and toiletries.
To conclude the new shower room, and matching the overall colour scheme of the wet floor, a tall grey radiator was fit next to the storage cabinet.
