Mobility Wet Room | Leeds | More Ability

Published: 27 November 2024

Background

Ms. Metcalf enquired following a recommendation from a friend who had recently worked with More Ability. As she grew older, Ms. Metcalf found her existing bathroom no longer met her needs—particularly the bath, which had become difficult to use. She sought a solution that would improve her safety, comfort, and ease of use.

Mobility Wet Room Design

Our Senior Designer, Garry, was allocated to visit and conducted thorough design appointment with Ms. Metcalf and her daughter to assess her needs and explore design possibilities. After discussing her requirements, Garry recommended transforming the space into a mobility wet room, complete with a permanently fixed folding seat for comfort and convenience.

To enhance safety, he suggested installing a non-slip vinyl flooring and a comfort-height WC. A stylish glass flipper screen was also included in the design to ensure a modern, functional aesthetic while keeping the water contained within the wet area. Ms. Metcalf and her daughter loved the idea of a soft, neutral colour scheme, which allowed them the flexibility to introduce bold accents through towels and window dressings.

Eager to proceed, Ms. Metcalf visited our Leeds showroom, where Garry presented the design concept, including detailed 3D CAD visuals and an itemised quote. Only the accessible bathroom design finishing touches remained to be chosen before the order was placed.

Mobility Wet Room Installation

Following the design phase, Joe, our Installations Surveyor, conducted a detailed site survey to finalise the specifications and ensure the project would progress smoothly. Joe’s meticulous planning laid the groundwork for a seamless installation.

Louis, our experienced multi-skilled bathroom fitter, brought the design to life. He skilfully installed the mobility wet room, including the non-slip flooring, comfort-height WC, and folding seat, while paying close attention to every detail. His dedication and expertise ensured a flawless transformation that exceeded expectations.

The Finished Project

The fully project managed design and fit accessible bathroom transformed Ms. Metcalf’s bathroom into a space that balances style, comfort, and accessibility. The mobility wet room ensures a safe and practical bathing experience, while the folding seat provides added care while in use. The neutral tones of the design create a serene environment, with ample opportunity for personalisation through décor.

Customer TrustPilot Review

Ms. Metcalf shared her appreciation in a glowing 5-star TrustPilot review:

"The fitter, Louis, was such a hard-working, pleasant man. Nothing seemed to be out of his capabilities—even if a blip appeared, he was on it. Excellent job; everyone who has seen it has been so impressed."

Project Summary

This case study highlights our expertise in creating mobility wet room solutions tailored to individual needs. Garry’s thoughtful design, Joe’s precise planning, and Louis’s exceptional craftsmanship combined to deliver a bathroom that enhances Ms. Metcalf’s comfort and quality of life.
