Mobility Wet Room Case Study | Bradford | West Yorkshire
Published: 6 April 2018
Problem:
Mr & Mrs Norfolk had a terracotta coloured bathroom suite that consisted of a bath, with overhead shower, WC and pedestal basin.
Tired in terms of design, with the suite styling dating back to the mid 90’s, the main reason for the works was not one of aesthetics however but focused instead on accessibility and mobility, as a result of the bath becoming unusable with regards to getting in and out safely and with ease.
A relatively large space, made to feel even bigger thanks to the no storage / clutter approach, the existing bathroom was also fully tiled and lent itself perfectly to a number of mobility bathroom solutions.
Solution:
Fully aware of the problem at hand both Mr & Mrs Norfolk knew what needed to be done in order to improve and facility safer bathing. Keen caravan owners the holiday home in which they spent a lot of their spare time in featured a level access walk-in shower so a stylish variation of the same type of solution was their main requirement within the renovation works.
Happy to let More Ability Surveyor & Designer, Andy, take the lead in terms of layout and product specification Andy proposed the idea of a mobility wet room solution which would cater for all present needs and any potential deterioration.
Outcome:
An unmanageable and unusable bathroom was transformed into a future and condition proofed mobility wet room. Recognised for being the complete showering solution, the renovated wet room ensured practicality in use, easy access and maximum safety. With the relocation of the electric shower, in order to accommodate a shower seat, a comfort height WC and pedestal basin the safe and accessible bathroom design was finished off with ditto beige tiles to walls and a light and clean bisque coloured anti slip vinyl to the floor.
What mr & mrs norfolk said about more ability:
“Paul worked extremely hard, long days and weekends, in order to complete the installation. His attitude was excellent.”
