Mobility Level Access Shower Case Study | Leeds | West Yorkshire
Published: 12 November 2018
Bathing Problem:
An existing small bathroom that was made to feel even more restricted due to an intruding boiler housing was in need of an accessible makeover due to the bath becoming a troublesome area. Fully tiled with a large terracotta tile to the floor and a complimentary cream tile with diamond feature to the wall the existing 3 piece champagne suite was very well maintained and in good working order despite it being in the region of twenty years old.
Bathing Solution:
Wanting to ensure his parents were well looked after, Mr & Mrs Morris’s son was influential in the design and planning stages of the bath to shower room conversion. Using Andy’s, the dedicated More Ability Surveyor and Designer, product knowledge and experience, coupled with a visit to our Leeds showroom, a joint decision was made to replace the bath with a level access shower tray.
Not wanting the renovation to look too adapted from a mobility point of view it was the finishing touches that all parties agreed on at their showroom visit that really transformed the renovation.
Installation Outcome:
A troublesome small bathroom was transformed into a bright and clean level access shower room that was accessible and safe. Featuring a bath replacement tray the shower area was enclosed with a full height glass screen and curtain with marble effect wall boards to the surrounds and a cushioned shower seat for increased safety while in use. With anti-slip vinyl to the floor the existing box work under the window sill was used to conceal the pipework and wastes for the WC and basin for a tidy, elegant maintenance free finish.
What Mrs Morris said about More Ability:
“I felt very comfortable leaving Paul in my home every day.”
