Mobility Wet Room Case Study | Leeds | West Yorkshire

Published: 28 October 2020

Bathing Problem:

Mrs Kellet’s dated 80’s style 2 piece bathroom suite consisted of a bath with overhead shower and basin, with a WC located in a small room next door.

No longer able to step over the bath and subsequently use the bathing and showering facilities, Mrs Kellet wished to update her suite into an level access shower solution.

Design Solution:

Upon visiting our Leeds disabled bathroom showroom to view and gather more information about mobility bathrooms.Mrs Kellet booked a free design appointment with experienced bathroom designer, Andy, to call and survey her current suite.

Whilst onsite Andy used his bathroom adaptation knowledge and design expertise to discuss with Mrs Kellet what her bathing requirements were with a view to being able to advise on the most suitable showering solutions available.

Taking onboard Mrs Kellet’s wants and needs, Andy created a safe mobility wet room design which he presented to Mrs Kellet via CAD design in our Leeds Showroom. Allowing her to visualise her new wet room Mrs Kellet was guided by Andy when picking her sanitary ware and finishing touches.

Wet Room Installation:

Making the best use of the available space, the unused green bath and basin was removed and replaced with a wet room and modern basin; installed by More Ability Multi-Skilled Fitter Glynn.

Included in the adaptation was a fixed white and grey cushioned built in shower seatand grab rails for additional safety and comfort.

In the separate WC room, the green 80’s style toilet was replaced with accessible sanitary ware in the form of a comfort height toilet to match with the rest of the wet room design.

Floor and wall coverings included anti-slip vinyl flooring to help to avoid any nasty slips or falls and modern grey marble effect accessible wall boards, helping to keep the suite stylish with minimal maintenance requirements.

Outcome:

Mrs Kellet’s dated and unsafe bathroom was transformed into a light and spacious wet room with additional safety features.

No longer having to worry about stepping over the bath, Mrs Kellet can now enjoy her modern suite for many years to come.

What Mrs Kellet said about More Ability:

Beautiful wet room! Commendable workmanship mainly by Glynn One little hiccup with the water not draining away but immediate response and soon rectified. Good teamwork throughout the job would recommend your company and good customer relations.
